Legal
Privacypolicy.
This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it and what you can do about it. It covers two things: this website and our advertising services.
Who we are
MobiRetarget is a mobile retargeting company. Advertisers use our services to reach people who have gone quiet in their apps, and publishers use them to sell in-app ad space. In this policy "MobiRetarget", "we" and "us" mean Drive Audience LLC, whose registered address is San Diego, California, United States. You can reach us at privacy@mobiretarget.com or through our contact page.
Scope
This policy covers two separate activities, and we keep them apart throughout.
- This website, mobiretarget.com. The people who visit it, write to us or ask for an opt-out.
- Our advertising services, the platform. The data we process so that advertisers can re-engage lapsed app users and publishers can sell ad space. Most people affected never visit this website. They meet us as an ad inside an app.
If you want to stop retargeting on your phone, go straight to the opt-out page.
What we collect
On this website
- What you send us in the contact form: your name, work email, company or app and your message.
- What you send us in an opt-out request: your name or the word anonymous, an email address for our confirmation, and your mobile advertising ID and platform.
- Technical data our servers receive with every request, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, kept in server logs.
- One first-party cookie,
mr_consent, which remembers your cookie choice. See the cookie policy. This website loads no measurement or advertising tools unless you switch those categories on.
In the advertising services
- Mobile advertising identifiers. The IDFA on iOS, which exists for an app only when the person allowed tracking, and the Android advertising ID.
- App event data that advertisers send about their own users, such as sessions, purchases and the time of the last visit, used to decide who has lapsed.
- Bid request data from publishers and exchanges: the app bundle, device type, coarse location derived from the IP address, and consent signals.
- Ad delivery logs: which ad was shown, where, when, whether it was clicked and whether the app was opened or reinstalled afterwards.
We do not ask for names, email addresses or phone numbers to run retargeting, and we do not build audiences from them in the advertising services.
Where data comes from
- You, when you use our contact or opt-out forms.
- Your browser, when you visit the website.
- Advertisers, through their app SDK, server or measurement partner.
- Publishers and exchanges, through bid requests.
- Our own systems, which record ad delivery.
Why we use data, and the legal basis
Where the GDPR or the UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following bases.
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Reply to enquiries and route requests | Contact form details | Legitimate interests in answering people who write to us |
| Carry out and confirm opt-out requests | Name, email, advertising ID | Legal obligation where a rights request applies, otherwise legitimate interests |
| Remember your cookie choice | mr_consent | Strictly necessary to honour your choice |
| Keep the website secure and working | Server logs | Legitimate interests in security and reliability |
| Build audiences and show retargeted ads | Advertising IDs, app events, bid request data | Consent, collected by the advertiser or publisher, where the law requires it |
| Count and report ad delivery and results | Delivery logs | Consent where required, otherwise legitimate interests in reporting to the advertiser and publisher |
| Detect invalid traffic and fraud | Bid request data, delivery logs | Legitimate interests in protecting the marketplace |
Our role
For app event data that an advertiser sends about its own users, we act as a processor. We follow the advertiser's instructions, and the advertiser decides why the data is used and tells its users. Our data processing addendum summarises those terms.
For bid request data and ad delivery logs, the role depends on the activity. Our agreement with each customer states which party is the controller and which the processor for each activity.
For website visitors and for people who send us a request, we are the controller.
Who we share with
- Advertisers receive reports on their own campaigns, at app level. They do not receive another advertiser's data.
- Publishers and exchanges receive the information needed to run an auction and deliver an ad.
- Measurement partners chosen by the advertiser receive the events the advertiser asks us to pass on, such as installs and opens.
- Infrastructure providers host our systems and process data on our instructions. The current list is available on request from privacy@mobiretarget.com.
- Authorities and advisers where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.
We do not sell the contact details of website visitors.
US state privacy rights
Residents of some US states have the right to know what personal information a business holds about them, to access, correct and delete it, and to opt out of its sale, its sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising and its use for targeted advertising. Advertising identifiers can count as personal information under these laws. You will not be treated differently for using these rights.
To opt out, use our opt-out page. To make any other request, contact us at privacy@mobiretarget.com. You may use an authorised agent, and we may ask for proof that they act for you.
Global Privacy Control
This website honours Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends the signal, the advertising category on this website stays off. The signal applies to the browser that sends it. It does not reach your phone's apps, which you control through the steps on the opt-out page.
Rights in the EEA and the UK
You can ask us for access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction, a portable copy and to object to processing, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier processing. If you are unhappy with our answer, you may complain to your local data protection authority. Contact us first and we will try to put it right.
International transfers
Our services and those of our providers may involve moving data across borders. Where data leaves the EEA or the UK for a country without an adequacy decision, we intend to rely on standard contractual clauses and, where needed, extra safeguards.
Retention
- Contact form messages: kept for no longer than we need to reply and follow up
- Opt-out requests and the suppression list: kept for as long as needed to honour the request
- Server logs: kept for no longer than security and troubleshooting need
- Advertising identifiers and app events: kept only while the campaign that uses them needs them
- Ad delivery logs: kept for as long as billing, reporting and fraud checks require
Security
We use technical and organisational measures suited to the data we hold, including access controls, encryption in transit and separation between advertisers' data. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will notify the people and authorities the law requires.
Children
Our advertising services are not directed to children. We do not run retargeting on child-directed apps, and our policies forbid advertisers and publishers from sending us children's data. This website is for business visitors, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we hold a child's data, tell us and we will delete it.
If you are a parent or guardian and want to ask about a child's advertising ID, use the opt-out page or write to us.
Sensitive data
We do not use sensitive categories of data, such as health, sexual life, religion, ethnicity or precise location, to build audiences. Advertisers may not ask us to.
Changes
We will update this policy when our practices or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters to you, we will make it clear on this page.
